Certification of Authenticity
Every authentic Riva is a unique work of art, one that preserves its historical, cultural and collectible value over time only when its provenance is certain and its specifications comply with the Shipyard’s original design. The Certificate of Authenticity was created with this in mind, testifying that a Riva boat was actually built by the Shipyard and that the design, materials and technical solutions match its original identity.
Riva Classiche is the Riva Shipyard's division that preserves and interprets its historical legacy, drawing on the official Historical Archive in Sarnico and the skilled craftsmen who, to this day, embody its design and construction expertise.
The Certificate of Authenticity is a document issued by Riva Classiche exclusively to boats produced by the Riva Shipyard twenty or more years ago, which meet the requirements set out in the verification process. Although more recent, certain limited-edition special series built by the Shipyard are also considered eligible for certification because of their recognised historical and symbolic value in the brand’s history.
The certification process is based on a thorough, in-depth technical analysis that assesses the functionality, originality and conformity of the boat’s main components — from the hull to the propulsion systems, from the finishings and upholstery to the instrumentation, and from the systems to the accessories — by direct comparison with the drawings and documentation in the Historical Archive as referenced by the hull number. When the verification is complete, the boat is given an overall score expressed as a decimal, which determines the level of certification. If the boat does not receive the maximum score, Riva Classiche can offer targeted restoration and refurbishment packages, carried out according to the original specifications, with the aim of further increasing the boat’s level of compliance and value.
